The X-ray Preamplifier Power
Supply (XPPS) provides power for 50 or more preamplifiers. The
19-inch rack-mount or benchtop unit contains linear power supplies
that generate +/-12V @ 6.8 Amperes and +/-24V @ 4.8 Amperes, with
very little noise. A rear panel ground strap is provided to eliminate
ground loops, and should be connected to the PXI crate chassis.
Four front panel DSUB-9 connectors
share the total current available from each voltage according
to the NIM standard pinout.
